After an extensive application and background check process, I am happy to officially announce that I am now a speaker for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). If you are familiar with my story, my husband, Gabriel, was hit by a drunk driver when he was 18 years old while pushing his van alongside the interstate. He suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a result. Ten years after the accident, he developed Epilepsy from the brain damage, and last year, he passed away during a seizure.
I am excited and privileged to share my family’s story. I don’t think that people realize the long-term consequences of drunk driving. In our case, the devastation has been generational. Because of a horrible decision that one man made over 10 years ago to drive home drunk, my children no longer have their father, and I do not have my beloved husband.
My first speaking engagement is next week and I am very excited! I will see if I can videotape the presentation. I will certainly take pictures. If you or a loved one has been impacted by the actions of a drunk driver, please support MADD! You can visit their Website here!
I hope you’re proud of me honey! Forever in our hearts, Gabriel Aaron Jones.
