Dance while you clean

Household cleaning on its own burns a ton of calories, which is great news. However, if you want to increase the number of calories that you are burning while you clean and really get that workout going, put on some music and dance as you clean. Perhaps you could put a Zumba workout on YouTube and do it as you clean the house? Dancing is a great form of exercise and an easy way to fit exercise into your daily routine.

Cycle to work

It might be easier to hop in the car to go to work but it’s not healthier. So why not swap to commuting via car and use your bike instead? That way, you would get your daily exercise done on the way to work and on the way home again, meaning that you don’t need to make time for it. Obviously, you could suffer a bicycle injury, but as long as you are a safe ride, the chance of you getting injured while out on your bike is low.

Be an active family

One of the easiest ways to make more time for exercise is also one of the simplest: be a more active family. On the weekends don’t sit the kids in front of the TV while you sit around at home, instead get out and do things together. Whether it’s hiking, geocaching, cycling, or swimming, it doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you take steps to become a more active family. If you bring your kids up to be active people, you will decrease the risk that as adults they will struggle with their weights and health in general.

Exercise as and when

Whenever you get a chance to exercise, do it. Cleaning the kitchen? Waiting for the dishwasher to finish? Drop and do 50 sit-ups. Run up the stairs, don’t walk. Waiting for the dinner to cook, do crunches in between stirs. The key to fitting exercise in is using any spare time that you have to workout.

If you want to lead a long and healthy life, it’s crucial that you make exercise a key part of your daily routine. Finding time to workout isn’t always easy, but if you are smart about it and incorporate your exercise into your day, it becomes much easier.
