My brown skin kids!

You’d have to be living under a rock if you haven’t heard Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.” The song is on “The Gift” album that’s part of “The Lion King” movie release. Little girls are singing it all over social media. My daughter loves it. It’s her new theme song. I’m very happy that Black girls have another song highlighting their God-given, natural beauty. Here are some other songs that I play for my children to reinforce that they’re fearfully and wonderfully made.

“Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce

“Black Gold” by Esperanza Spalding

“Black Is” by Fertile Ground

“Brown Eyed Girl” by Tevin Campbell

“Brotha” by Angie Stone

“Cloud 9” by Donnie

“Brown Skin” by India Arie

“Don’t Touch My Hair” by Solange

“I Am Not My Hair” by India Arie ft. Akon

My children know all of these songs and love them. Share some of your favorites in the comments!
