When was your last doctor appointment? How about dental? So many people are all about looking after everyone around them but sometimes this leads to totally neglecting themselves. It can take a lot of time and energy to take care of yourself, but you really have to work on it if you want your body and your mind to remain as healthy as possible.

If you have children, you want them to be well, and they will take their natural cues from you about it. If you’re not looking after yourself, the chances are that they’re not feeling good or taking care of themselves, either. Whether you are behind on your appointments with Wahroonga Dental or you are in dire need of a pedicure, it all matters to look after your health. Forming better habits is a must and you know that, but you also need to know the signs that you’re not caring enough about your own health in the first place. You are in pain

If you notice that your body is hurting more than usual, then it’s time to get it all checked out. Physical aches are the first indicator that something is seriously wrong, and that’s where you need to get some help. Visit your doctor or a pain management clinic for specialized care. Pain is your body’s way of telling you that there’s something out of place. You have to see your healthcare provider to help you with your pain.

You’re gaining weight

It’s not about body shaming, but no one wants to gain weight in rapid succession without a cause behind it. You don’t need to slash your calories and start exercising to a fault, but you do need to have some self-awareness about your body and what you’re doing to gain weight in the first place. If you’re eating too much, or you’re under-exercising, then you have to pay closer attention to how you’re treating your body.

You’re not sleeping anymore

Insomnia is a clear sign that your brain is just too wired to function. You have to encourage yourself to sleep more because if you don’t, you’re going to regret the fact that you cannot sleep. You need to find ways to meditate and let go of all of the  stress before you go to sleep. You need to get into a good rhythm so that you can sink into sleep and feel good about it.

You’re missing health checksHealth checks are essential to ensure you protect both your health and well-being. As well as scheduling regular health assessments, you also need to attend hearing checks and sight tests. Ensuring that you have the correct eyeglass prescription and hearing aids, if you need them, is crucial to maintain your wellness and well-being.

You’re regularly in a bad mood

You need to look at your mental health as much as your physical health and you need to remember that your mind matters – a lot! Burnout is real and it affects the mind as much as your body. You need to be able to feel in a good mood from time to time and be happy and the only way to do that is to care better for your health.

You need to care about yourself sometimes. Take time to realise the symptoms that something is wrong.
