Well, we made it through our first Thanksgiving with the baby and everything turned out great! This year, I decided that I would have real serving dishes and a real turkey platter, so I went to the Christmas Tree Store and spent too much money enhancing my hosting swag. Everything turned out great and our family enjoyed the food. I served the traditional foods—turkey, cornbread sausage stuffing, rice and gravy, mac and cheese, candied sweet potatoes, greens, green beans, buttermilk fried chicken and cranberry sauce. I also made two sweet potato pies. Needless to say, we’ve been eating leftovers for the past 3 days.

The finished product…Time to eat!

K also reached a couple of milestones this weekend. He turned 8 months old (Wow!) and he ate his first meat (Turkey of course!). Our little boy is growing up so fast.

We didn’t make it to church Thanksgiving Day because I had to cook the food, but we did go Sunday to praise God for all the blessings He’s given us. It was a great Thanksgiving.
